Embracing our Heritage
Loon+Sturgeon’s vision is to reconnect with our roots and preserve the fabric of our Indigenous language and culture.
We are members of the Anishiinabek community of Whitesand First Nation in Northwestern Ontario, Canada.
My family and children are everything to me. One of my greatest goals is to help them achieve self-sufficiency, and this has been a significant source of motivation for me. Throughout our lives, we have always supported one another, even in the face of our own challenges. This steadfast support is a defining characteristic of my late mother, my father, and siblings.
During the 2020 shutdown, I observed a remarkable behaviour in my children – they persevered, stayed motivated, and worked diligently towards their goals.
The creation of this website was inspired by my eldest daughter, Kye, who showed remarkable dedication to learning the original language of my late mother, Josie, who joined the spirit world in June 2020.
We at Loon+Sturgeon blend traditional art with contemporary design to create unique artwear that sings with the spirit of our indigenous roots. Join us on a journey of creativity and cultural expression to celebrate our indigenous roots in style.
